Celebrate Christmas with the Shirley Brass Band


Solihull’s Shirley Band is to celebrate Christmas on Saturday December 3 with an afternoon children’s concert and an evening concert at Shirley Baptist Church.

Music from two Christmas crackers will include traditional festive music, music from the film Frozen and The Polar Express, sing-a-long Christmas carols and arrangements of modern Yuletide music.

The brass band, one of the best in Birmingham and Solihull, regularly performs across the West Midlands, and has a regular concert series at The Dovehouse Theatre in Olton.

Sally Middleton, Shirley Band’s secretary, said: “We can’t wait for our annual Christmas concerts, which will both include a wide range of festive music. Get your tickets now, before they sell out. Just remember to come dressed for Christmas!”

The Children’s Christmas concert will be 3pm to 3.45pm, and features special guest, Father Christmas, whilst the evening ‘Brass at Christmas’ concert will be 7pm to 9pm. and will include an interval, when mince pies and biscuits will be available.

Tickets for the children’s concert are priced £4.00 (adults), children (£6.00) and under 2’s get in for free. Tickets for Brass at Christmas are £10 (adults), £8 (concessions) and children under 12’s get in for free. Both concerts are at Shirley Baptist Church, Stratford Road, Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands, B90 3BD.
